Easy. Ready to use. Under the toppings.
One rule to remember: Krisp-It always goes under the toppings — that’s where the moisture comes from.
Before you start
- Krisp-It is a moisture-absorbent topping conditioner made of all-natural ingredients (bleached wheat flour, salt, sugar and yeast).
- It absorbs the water and oil from the toppings — about 70–80% of the soggy pizza problem.
- Use roughly ½ to 1 oz per pizza. Pizza making is inconsistent, so dial the amount in to how much oil and water your toppings release.
- Never mix Krisp-It into the dough. It works on top, under the toppings — not in the recipe.
Absorbing moisture from the toppings
Sauce → cheese → toppings?
Sprinkle Krisp-It on the center two-thirds of the pie after the cheese, just before the toppings: sauce, cheese, Krisp-It, then toppings.
Sauce → toppings → cheese?
Then it’s: sauce, Krisp-It (center two-thirds), toppings, a small amount of Krisp-It all over, and then the cheese. Either way — Krisp-It always sits under the toppings.
Wet sauce?
Sometimes the moisture comes from the sauce itself. Sprinkle a small amount of Krisp-It in the very center, on top of the sauce, before the cheese goes on.
Bake & box as usual
Nothing else changes. Bake your normal time and temperature, cut, box, and send it out — Krisp-It does its work inside the box.
The 30-minute box test
Don’t take our word for it — test it the way your customers experience it:
- 1
Make two identical pies with pepperoni and vegetables — the worst-case, wettest scenario.
- 2
Make one your regular way. Make the other with Krisp-It under the toppings.
- 3
Box both and leave them closed for at least 30 minutes — about the length of an average delivery or take-home.
- 4
Open the boxes. The Krisp-It pie has no grease and water across the bottom of the pie and box — and the crust is still krisp.
More ways to use Krisp-It
Excess oil puddles
After the pizza comes out of the oven, sprinkle a very small amount of Krisp-It right onto the oil puddle, wait about 8 seconds, then cut the pie.
Sliding cheese
Krisp-It keeps the cheese anchored to the pie, so slices come out of the box intact instead of leaving the cheese behind.
Soggy calzones
The same moisture problem hits calzones from the inside. Krisp-It under the filling keeps the shell from going soggy.
Runny lasagna
Krisp-It keeps lasagna from running, so portions hold their shape on the plate and in the take-out container.
